The Word of God Will Provide Conviction to Sinners
The Bible, which is the Word of God.....
- 1 Thess. 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
- That .... is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb. 4:12
- That .... is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Tim. 3:16-17
- That .... are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Psalm 12:6-7
Will bring to people the CONVICTION of sin. Conviction.... to persuade or satisfy the mind by evidence; to subdue the opposition of the mind to TRUTH!!!
- Through the work of the Holy Spirit - John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: John 16:13a Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:
- Through the preaching of the Word of God - Titus 1:3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; Titus 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. 1 Cor. 1:18, 21 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. Jude 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. Titus 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee. Eph. 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 1 Tim. 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

Bro. Jim,
Thanks for this post. I know serveral churches in my area that the members don't carry their Bibles to services. They teach from some book a person has written, instead of the word of God. Thanks be to God, that his words never change.
Bro. Rod
Amen Bro Jim the only way a sinner gets saved is because they have been confronted with the Word of God. I am so thankful that I went to a camp where the Word of God convicted me and changed my life.
Bro TIm
I praise the Lord for His Word and the conviction it brings!!
