The Soul-Winner's Job

1 Cor. 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

1. We are to plant.

A. The seed will never be planted if we don't go.

B. We place the seed in the minds of men by presenting the Gospel from the Word of God.

2. We are to water.

A. After someone has already planted the seed, we water by going the second time.

B. The watering process is done by reassuring them of the Gospel in a kind, courteous manner.

3. God gives the increase.

A. After the seed has been planted and watered, God then moves in with the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

B. God is the only one who can bring about salvation.

4. It is God's will for the soul-winner to experience all three during his witness.

A. We are to plant.

B. We are to water.

C. We are to receive the increase God gives.

When we realize we are not the only one involved in the saving of a soul, then we will keep from boasting or our own accomplishments.
