An Interesting Analogy - Cell Phone vs. The Bible
Cell Phone vs. Bible
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our Cell phones.....
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets???
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it???
What if we flipped through it several times a day???
What if we used it to receive messages from the text???
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it???
What if we gave it to kids as gift???
What if we used it as we traveled???
What if we used it in case of an emergency???
What if we upgraded it to get the latest version???
Something to make you say hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, and where is my Bible?

I just found your blog earlier today and have enjoyed reading its entries (your daughter had left a comment on mine a couple of days ago - and I just found your blog through Julie's Jewels).
Just wanted to invite you out to my blog, Buy The Truth. It is IFB and KJVonly, which it looks like you might be too. God bless.
I should have added a comment to this entry too - I think all of the points you mentioned were great, except the last one! I always carry around my small whole Bible - either in my pocket or in my backpack - and I think I would go into withdrawals if I didn't have it. Actually once I did leave it at home about a month or so ago, and I thought I had dropped it or had it fall out of my pocket on the bus, and it caused me some grief until after I got home from work and saw it by my computer, where I had used it just before I left. Aw, relief!
I am blogging too much on your blog... Is Stephen your son? I would love to use one of the entries he has on his blog for a devotional, if there was any way to contact him and ask for permission. It is the one for April 13, 2005 called, "Above All Thy Name". Please let me know if this would be possible, and if so, what name to put on the article as the author. You can email me that info if you would rather not respond here (I just didn't see an email address here either). Thank you.
This was a good post Bro. Jim. You are so right about all the points you mentioned. I know some that USED to carry their bible with them everywhere they went but they don't anymore. But they sure do carry their cell phone with them!! Bro. Jerry is a blessing and I'm so glad he found your site. I know he will enjoy it from here on. I know I do. We'll miss getting to see you and Stephen at the campmeeting. Maybe y'all will get to go in August :)
Bro. Jerry,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comments... well, several!!! I sent you an email regarding Stephen's blog entry. Also, the last statement on this post... you and I aren't looking to trade our Bible's in for every new version which comes out fairly often, but those with cell phones like to in order to get those new technical features, and of course, keep up with their friends.
Sis. Julie,
Take care of my family down at Faith Baptist Camp... and raise a hand or yell an AMEN for me!!!!!
