A SENT SON

A SYPATHETIC SAVIOR
Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
A SCORNFUL CROWD
Luke 23:35 And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if he be Christ, the chosen of God.
SADISTIC SOLDIERS
Luke 23:36-37 And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him, and offering him vinegar, And saying, If thou be the king of the Jews, save thyself.
A SIGNIFICANT SIGN
Luke 23:38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
A SARCASTIC SINNER
Luke 23:39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
A SAVED SINNER
Luke 23:40-43 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

ummmmmmm. NAILS? blood,the stench of soiled cloth, sweat, puke, cold ground, weeds, no one but whatever was considered " friends". ? confusion, fear, question of ones own self,? anxiety, hoplessness, like. dude. WHAT DID you expect?, a sale on easter eggs and choclate bunnies?? or an easter egg hunt, which your evangelical president [ who talks to a higher power by the way andis a GOOD CHristian ] did to continue on a tradition started 100 years ago??. GEE thats really CHRIST CONSCIOUSNESS isnt it?

God's Son dying on the cross for mankind's SIN... yet by your words, we can see where your true focus was set upon... but then again, the heathen Roman centurion probably was focused upon the same things at first, until he finally focused his eyes upon Jesus, and then upon His death...
Matt. 27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
By the way, you forget your Turkish jelly beans.... you can see where the world has changed the focus away from Jesus Christ..
but as you probably already know with your vast biblical knowledge.... the Easter bunny is not in the Bible!!!
The Christian can celebrate resurrection day each and every Sunday of the week... Ash Wednesday, Lent, and Good Friday are all invented traditions from RELIGION!!!!! Surely you have great memories of that religious upbringing you had...
