THE BLESSED MAN FEARS GOD
Psalm 112:1-2 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
This is an essential quality for the person who desires to see God’s hand of blessing. He must learn to fear the Lord. “Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD.” One cannot expect to see the blessing of the Lord who does not sincerely and consistently fear Him. We have witnessed a sad decline in the fear of God in our lifetime. This absence of fear has made its way into the churches as well. Worship is becoming more and more man-centered instead of God-centered. Casualness and worldliness are welcomed in many places of worship. Unless there is great repentance in our society, we can assume this trend will continue. There are many who now believe and teach that it is unhealthy for a person to fear God. Somehow, it is considered a thing to be shunned. Of course, the Bible teaches contrary to that. Proverbs 19:23 tells us, “The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied.” The fear of God brings life and satisfaction. Blessing comes to those who fear the Lord. The fear of the Lord helps us to be mindful of God’s presence. Because we fear Him, we will want to please Him. The fear of God helps us depart from evil. The fear of the Lord teaches us that He sees our every deed, knows our thoughts, hears our words, and is aware of our motives. Fearing God keeps us aware that we will give an account to Him one day at the Judgment. Our text also states that THE BLESSED MAN “delighteth greatly in his commandments.” God is looking for, and promises to bless, those who will take His Word seriously. The commandments of the Scriptures are not man’s commands, but they are “his commandments.” Obedience and the fear of the Lord go hand in hand. We are to hide His commandments in our hearts and teach ourselves to love His Word. Let’s ask ourselves, “Do I enjoy the Bible? Do I delight greatly in the truths of Scripture? Do I look forward to and make the most out of times of Bible study or the preaching services of the church?” Our attitudes about these things will help to determine the reality of God’s blessing in our lives. God wants to bless as we follow His ways.

good point dude.. what the church really NEEDS to do is bring back fear and self loathing , corporal punishment, killing the non believers, gouging out eyes and cutting off limbs etc, . and perhaps.. if one loves God he does NOT fear him. God is LOVE. . MAN distorted the image of god through fear and self loathing . Just look at the history of ANY church. . read its distorted dogma, and you will be doing what the church wants. you will be LIVING A LIE. . that's its truth of today.

I'm glad to see you stop by again... as usual, I must inform you that your "truth" does not line up with God and His TRUTH as found in His Word.
First off, I'm afraid you are not using the biblical definition of fear as written to the Christian; the fear of God is a holy awe or reverence of God and his laws, which springs from a just view and real love of the divine character, leading the subjects of it to hate and shun every thing that can offend such a holy being, and inclining them to aim at perfect obedience; to reverence; to have a reverential awe; to venerate.
The fear you speak of is terror, an expectational of evil, and fright. The Christian does not have this fear!!! However, the unbeliever will exhibit this fear upon the day of their final judgment!!!
Secondly, your perception of the church is not a biblical one. You will not find one command in God's Word to the church to do anything which you have mentioned, such as corporal punishment, killing non-believers, gouging out eyes, the inquisition; etc. The things you mention, as always, is man and his made-up RELIGION.
When will take my advice to pick up God's Word and read it instead of trusting false teachings about God, Jesus Christ, salvation, the church, Heaven and Hell, and biblical Christian standards and actions????? I'm still waiting.... you talk a lot about RELIGION, but very little about real Bible TRUTH.

2 Kings 17:39 But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
Pslm 64:9 And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
Prov 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Pslm 19:9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
Pslm 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
Pslm 33:8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

For the unbeliever, the fear of God is to fear the judgment of God and eternal death, which is eternal separation from God (Luke 12:5; Hebrews 10:31). For the believer, the fear of God is something much different. The believer's fear is reverence of God. Hebrews 12:28-29 is a good description of this, "Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear;For our God [is] a consuming fire." This reverence and awe is exactly what the fear of God means for Christians. This is the motivating factor for us to surrender to the Creator of the Universe.
This is not cowering in a corner as you say. And yes I do like HUKABEE.

Your acronym doesn't bring the biblical definition of FEAR to me. It appears to be more like DECEPTION or DECEIT; you know, like we see with man's RELIGION in this world, both past and present!!! Maybe you should re-read some of the Bible verses I posted.... especially that last one;

God's MERCY will be shown to those who acknowledge His Word and His commands and instructions; those who respect His Authority over their lives; those who realize that He is JUST and will judge all fairly based upon the clear instruction given in His Word.
Rom. 1:17-18 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
And where does man find faith in God???
Rom. 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Again, I am trying to stress to you the importance of the Word of God; the Bible. Please pick it up and read it for yourself!!!!! One day in the future, we will face God individually. It is TRUE!!!!! It's not a fairy tale!!!

Do you have a godly fear looking ahead to your future appointment with God??? Or do you follow the philosophy of the world, having NO FEAR of God and living simply for your own pleasure and SELF??? I can only recall one lenghty post of yours early on in our conversation about so-called contradictions in God's Word. I doubt you came up with this list on your own from your own study of His Word, since I have seen similar lists by others who ridicule the Bible in past correspondence and websites. I believe I answered at that time you were not following the simple rules of context, God's progressive revelation to His people, as well as "rightly dividing" the Word of God. I'll be happy to discuss these one at a time if you are honest about your discovery of these contradictions... you know my email address....
Again, your distaste for God's Word is quite evident with your words such as "PLAGERIZED DOCUMNENT".... and other mistatements such as the following; "YOU ESCAPE AND DISTORT YOUR OWN SPIRITUALITY IN A BOOK WRITTEN BY A MAN " KING JAMES"...."
I expected a little more knowledge from you then that statement, which is similar to the mistatements in the past about who wrote posted verses (ie your comment about Timmy saying long ago, when it was the words of Paul as inspired by the Holy Spirit; or words spoken by Jesus Christ which you stated "whoever said that is..." King James did not write the King James Bible.... he authorized its writing, but he himself had nothing to do with the actual writing.... a group of 54 men undertook this assignment from the King. Sometimes I believe you are "pulling my leg" with such mistatements, but I wonder the longer we discuss things with each other.

I thought the Bible was foolishness in your eyes regarding spiritual truth??? Surely you don't pick and choose things from God's Word which is OK with you, but other things which is definitely foolishness. I don't see you as being doubleminded, or are you???

His TRUTH is plainly found in His Word, the Bible, something I have pointed out to you many, many times, but yet, you counter back with ridicule and the utter foolishness about that Book. You believe anyone is a fool who believes it is the very word of God. Well, you have met such a fool, because I do believe it is the very word of God!!!
I wasn't being defensive about the question of your statement of "God being in all men." I just wondered where you came up with that idea, because it isn't biblical truth. Apparently, your spirituality has been derived from somewhere, so I just wondered about the source of that comment. The Holy Spirit does live within some men, but not all men....
Finally, if you agree that all roads to not lead to God as many today do believe, how do you know whether or not you are on the right road, and if your yourself are on the right road, wouldn't your desire be to point others that same way in order for them to end up meeting God too????? Maps are definitely useful for the lost traveler if he will put it to use; you think God has left us a "map" to help us find the way to Him???
Why not pick up His Word and really read it this weekend while you are enjoying your Turkish jelly beans and chocolate eggs; unless you plan on chasing that Easter Bunny!!!
Of course, man's tradition has really missed Easter this year... passover is still a month away!!! But of course, you probably already knew that from your own study of the Bible. Right??? You understand the significance of the passover and the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ????
At least we aren't like some of those "fanatical" Catholics, such as in the Philippines, who are nailing themselves to crosses and taking physical whippings to show us their true spirituality... let's see, where is that command found in the Bible for believers to obey??? Possibly Calvary 3:16??????

Yes, we have always agreed on the deceit of man-made RELIGION.... but we disagree to a great degree regarding the authority, respect, and obedience that God's Word deserves, at least for one that claims to know God!!!
