Things a Christian Can and Should Firmly KNOW Inside and Out

1. That God keeps His promises - Rom. 4:17-21

Rom 4:17-21 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

2. Your eternal destiny - Job 19:25, John 5:24

Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

3. That you are different because of Jesus Christ - II Cor. 5:17

2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

4. The will of God for your life, your purpose and calling - Rom. 12:1-2

Rom. 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

5. That you reap what you sow - Gal. 6:7

Gal. 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

6. What is clearly right and clearly wrong, convictions - Amos 5:15a

Amos 5:15a Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate:

7. That people are wicked and are in need of God and His word - Dt. 31:29, Rom. 7:18

Dt. 31:29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

Rom. 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

8. That troubles are ultimately God's business - Pslm. 119:75

Pslm. 119:75 I know, O LORD, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.

9. The joy of the Lord - don't just act like you believe it is there - KNOW it, experience it, LIVE in it, and SHOW it - Neh. 8:10b

Neh. 8:10 .... for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

10. The fear of the Lord - don't ignore - Prov. 1:7

Prov. 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

11. Some things will be hard to understand - II Pet. 3:15-16

2 Pet. 3:15-16 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

This is very good Bro. Jim and you are right....we should all know these things. Unfortunately...some who are saved don't know all these things due to lack of studying God's Word and/or not having a pastor that is preaching it and teaching it to them. And how sad that is. Thank you for your posts that you have been putting on here. I've been reading but not commenting. Mostly due to just not taking the time to do so. Thank you again!!

Amen Bro Jim just like Mrs Julie said most saved people have no idea what they know and are ignorant of the scriptures I thank God that I learned as a young Christian the only way to grow is to read the Word everyday and though I haven;t read everyday since being saved God has taught me so much. Thanks for the post.
