Salvation or Religion: Which do you Have???

Religion is not salvation!!! You may be religious and morally upright and still be a stranger to salvation. There are many people who build their salvation on religion. They think if they observe religious ordinances and do the best that they can, God will have to accept them. This will never give anyone eternal life or scriptural salvation.

You may belong to a church, be a church officer or a churchgoer, be an active church worker or trying your best, striving to do right; you may have been taught in God's Word, baptized in water and confirmed; you may have partaken of the Lord's Supper, taught Sunday School, preached, read the Bible - yes, and all the rest; but if you haven't been converted (Matt. 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.), you are still in your sin and are a stranger to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

There is only one way you can be saved, and that is by trusting Jesus Christ as Saviour.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Perhaps you believe that Christ died on the cross for you and your sin, but you haven't trusted Him as your Saviour. Then you have not made use of what He has done for you.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Perhaps you have been trying to do your best but still have a longing in your heart for true peace with God. This peace will be yours as soon as you trust Christ to save your soul.

Just now, friend, trust Jesus as your Saviour and let Him save your soul!!! Religion is not salvation; only Jesus can give you SALVATION!!!

it's going to be funny (and by funny, i mean hilarious) when once it ends, all you get is a simple lights out, instead of pearly gates.

Anonymous (at least to me and others, but of course, God knows who, what, why, where, and how you are; yet He stills loves you and cared enough about you to send His Son to die for your sin, just as He did for me and many others who believe God's Word),

I won't be laughing when you take your last breath, that breath GOD gives you each moment of the night and day, along with your beating heart, which you have no thought of at all during the day or while asleep at night.

Go ahead and laugh as you lay your head tonight on your pillow while meditating on eternity... sleep peacefully knowing that if that heart stops beating, only darkness will come... well, at least that is what you believe????? You had better be right, because if not........ you will be spending your eternity in Hell without Christ.

Psalms 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Luke 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

See, unlike you, I'm free from the cult of religion. I use logic instead of relying on ficitious people like your jesus to tell me what to do.

Anonymous (hmmmm.... that's logical??? Do you have a name???),

But you have reached an incorrect conclusion.... I'm not a fan of religion either!!! Religion is man-made and centered on man, utilizing god to fulfill his own thoughts and desires... My faith is in God and His Word!!! He is the way and the TRUTH!!!

Jesus, ficticious??? What year are we living in today??? Why does the world accept approximately 2009 years since the life of Christ??? Be honest now.... did you write down 2009 today in your routine daily activities???

You believe in logic??? It seems illogical to me to believe in a created object without having a creator.... everything you have seen, touched, smelled, or tasted today was created by a creator... not by chance or simply magically out of the air!!!

It seems illogical to me to not see order in everyday observations.... not disorder as one would expect from simple chance out of chaos or from a big bang!!!

Finally, it seems illogical to me to not admit that you have had a conscience evidenced at some point in your lifetime... something in your inner man which suggests to you that you are more than just a physical being.... but a spiritual one also!!!

Just something to think about.... thanks for stopping by again. You are very welcome to join me with an inquiring, civil discussion. I;m happy to share my thoughts with you....
