Down in the Dumps (and Out of Them)
Psalm 42:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

- When Paul was threatened with shipwreck, the Lord told him to "be of good cheer." Acts 27:25
- When John was banished to the island of Patmos, the Lord revealed Himself to him. Rev. 1:11
- When Jonah was in the belly of the whale, the Lord gave him deliverance as soon as he said, "Salvation is of the LORD." Jonah 2:9
- When Joshua was on his face through defeat, the LORD said unto him, "Get thee up." Josh. 7:10
- When Samson was grinding in the prison, the LORD caused his hair "to grow again." Judges 16:22, 28
- When Israel was "groaning" in Egypt, Jehovah made them glad by bringing them out of it. Ex. 6:5
Christian friend, if you are currently "down in the dumps," look unto these examples above from God's Word and allow God to lift you up and begin serving Him again with a refreshed and renewed spirit!!!
