Religion Vs. Salvation

What is the difference between religion and salvation?

Religion is an experience with a mystical idea, while salvation is an experience with a mighty Person.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Religion is an experience which requires only a new thought. Salvation is an experience which requires a new birth.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Religion is an experience which takes place in the head. Salvation is an experience that takes place in the heart.

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Religion is an experience that is brought about by good works. Salvation is an experience that is brought about by God's grace.

Eph. 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Religion is an experience that involves receiving a creed. Salvation is an experience that involves receiving Christ.

John 1:11-12 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Religion is external. Salvation is internal.

Religion is transferable. Salvation is nontransferable.

Religion is temporary. Salvation is permanent.

Religion is earthly. Salvation is heavenly.

Religion is cheap and a counterfeit. Salvation is the real thing.

Religion is endured. Salvation is enjoyed.

Friend, which do you have in your life today? Religion, or Salvation? There is a big, big difference. Don't be confused about the two!!!

I'm so thankful I don't have religion!! I have a relationship with the God of the universe. I feel sad for those that do have religion. I pray they realize that and will have a relationship with Christ like we do.

Christopher, Julie, and The Good Reporters,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment on my post. Let's not get tied up in Religion, but instead, focus on the God of our salvation, following Him and His word.
